Thanks for a great 2007 Season !

A great send off to the season was capped off with Bowl Trophy and a halftime ceremony to our 3 senior players (#12 Erick, #13 Brandon, & Anthony). The rest of the team and coaches gave them team autographed footballs. Good luck next year in tackle!

Thanks again goes out to a great staff...and great parents. You all have truly made this a special season.

See you all at the Team Banquet in December!

1st Annual "Jess Gonzalez" Bowl Games

Our final game of the season was against the West Covina Bruin (Brown) Team. It was a nice end to a great season. After falling behind in the 1st quarter 0 -6. The Rebels turned up the heat on defense, shutting out the Bruins the rest of the game. The offense scored on long runs by #13 Brandon, then by #9 Angel giving us what looked to be a 12 - 6 victory.....but you know our team had to go out in style. What turned out to be the last play of the game and season, was another long touchdown run by #13 Brandon making the final score 18 - 6.

The Rebels final record for the 2007 season is 7 wins, 1 loss, & 1 tie

Game 8 - 2nd Half: vs Boyle Heights

The first play of the 2nd half, the Rebels scored on a 40-yard run by #13 Brandon. In the 3rd quarter, the Rebels scored on another touchdown run from #9 Angel, who also had 2 interception. A late game highlight play that was called back because of another block in the back penalty was made by #8 Jesse...who took the handoff and ran down the right side, then back to the left side of the field, then cutting back toward the right side, finally running across back to the left side for the TD...even though it didn't count, it was a terrific effort! The final score of the game was 18 - 0.

Game 8 - 1st Half Review: vs Boyle Heights

The Rebels had another great day of football. The Defense was shutting down everything the Boyle Heights tried. On the first play of the game for our offense, #13 Brandon ran fo a 25-yard gain down the right sidelines. On our second play, #9 Angel ran it in for a TD. The Rebels and another touchdown called back because of an illegal block in the back penalty. The Rebels also got stopped on the 2-yard line on a 4th down and goal. What could have been a big half time lead was only 6 - 0.

Game 7 Review: vs. Glendora

The Rebels came out very strong today on defense. The first play of the game resulted in an interception returned for a touchdown by (CB) #8 Jesse giving the Rebels a 6 - 0 lead. It turns out that was all the Rebels would need because the Rebel "D" would not let the Glendora Tartans (Black) team near their endzone. The Rebels offense also showed it could score, when during the 4th quarter, (RB) #13 Brandon took the handoff and scored, making the final score Rebels 12 - Glendora 0.

With one game remaining in the season, the Rebels are 5 - 1 - 1, with a chance to get back at Boyle Heights, who was the only park to give us a loss all season long, including scrimmages. Good luck gentlemen, and BEAT the Wolfpack!

Game 6 Review: vs. Montebello

Today the Rebels continued their winning ways with a 6 - 2 victory over the Montebello Indians (Black) team. The boys were a step slow in the first half and trailed by 2 at half time. The team received a great pep talk by the coaches, and after a blocking adjustment, the team was able to move the ball. We were finally able to punch it in the end zone in the 4th quarter on an 8-yard TD run by #9 Angel. The Indians tried to comeback late in the game but the Rebel Defense had them going backwards. On a 4th down and 2, #13 Brandon intercepted a pass for the Rebels to seal the victory. The Rebels are now 4-1-1 with two games left in the season.

Game 5 Review: vs. Covina

The Rebels got back to their winning ways with a 24 - 0 victory over the Covina Vikings (Purple). The Offense looked sharp and scored on three touchdown runs from #9 Angel. The Defense played another game of shutout ball with #13 Brandon leading the way with over 10 flag pulls. The Defense also scored on an interception return for a TD by #19 Anthony. It was a perfect way to get our Homecoming Day started!

The teams record is now 3 - 1 - 1 with only three more games remaining in the season.

Game 2: 2nd Half Review

The REBELs finally got on the board mid way through the 3rd quarter on a 40-yard hitch pass to #9 Angel putting the REBELs in front with what was eventually the final score of 6 - 2. The REBEL Defense played another great second half of shutout football. Counting the second half of game 1, that is a total of 7 straight quarters without allowing our opponents a point against our defense!

Game 2: 1st Half Review

The REBELs came out a little sluggish this morning, maybe it had something to do with the weather, but the team seemed a step slow for most of the 1st half. The Defense played ok and didn't allow a point. The Offense however, couldn't get much going and stumbled a little with an attempted reverse from our own 1-yard line, that resulted in a saftey, putting the Rebels behind 0 - 2 at the half.

Game 1: Rebels vs. West Covina

The REBELs opened the season with an 18 - 6 victory over the West Covina Bruins (Gold) at Cortez Park. If we keep playing with the same energy, focus & fun the rest of the season, we are going to do great. Keep up the good work boys!

Thanks to all the parents for their support. The Team Staff & Players really appreciate it.

Game1: 2nd Half Review

The REBELs scored 2 TDs while shutting out the Bruins in the final 2 quarters. The Offense scored it's first TD of the 2nd half on a 12-yard run down the right sideline by #13 Brandon putting the REBELs in front 12 - 6.

Late in the 4th quarter, the REBELs closed the door when they held the Bruins on a 4th & 5. The Offense quickly turned the turnover into points on another run by #9 Angel, this time down the left side making it a final score of 18 - 6.

Game1: 1st Half Review

The REBELs started out a little slow, just like in the pre-season. On their 2nd position of the game, the Bruins took the lead 6 - 0 on a 40-yard touchdown run. The REBELs responded very late in the 2nd quarter on a perfect play call, "Reverse Right", going to #9 Angel on a 37-yard TD run that tied the game up at 6 - 6. The REBELs "D" was flying to the ball and did not allow another point the rest of the game.
